Experience the Benefits of Prepaid Electricity
Prepaid electricity is not a typical type of electrical service. Prepaid-electricity works in that a person will be able to buy one’s electricity before it is used. This is useful for a number of different reasons.
The first thing to take a look at is that there are no fees involved with prepaid-electricity. The only costs that are going to be involved are costs that relate to getting the specific amount of electricity that one is looking to get.
Next there is the fact that there will be no surprises involved with regards to getting a bill. A problem with traditional electricity is that it is something that can be too expensive for some people to get. The sticker shock that can come about from one’s electrical bill can be too great. A person who uses prepaid-electricity will not have to deal with this concern. The person will instead know what one is getting and will be able to easily expect what is going on.
Another thing comes from how a person who uses prepaid-electricity will be able to keep from spending too much electricity. A good thing to see is that the average person who gets prepaid electricity will be able to do more to conserve one’s electrical use. This is great for economic and environmental purposes. Using less electricity can help to get fewer natural resources to be used while it can also work to ensure that a person’s electricity is not going to be used up too quickly.
A good thing about this benefit of prepaid-electricity is that a person will know what one is getting into. This can be used as a guideline with regards to how much electricity one can work with for a certain period of time.
The last benefit is that there are no sudden worries to see with regards to flat rates. A problem with some electrical plans is that they work with flat rates that charge minimums to people. This is regardless of how much money is being spent on prepaid-electricity. A prepaid-electrical plan will work to at least keep a person from having to deal with any of these fees. This is especially valuable for those who do not use as much electricity as others.
All of these benefits of prepaid electricity are great benefits for anyone to take a look at. Prepaid-electricity is a service that works without the use of expensive bills or costs. It will work to instead allow a person to save money and at the same time allow a person to be able to use less energy than what one would be handling through a standard electrical plan.

With residential natural gas to electricity converters, the genie may finally have come out of the lamp. Around the turn of the last century, people would fill their gas lamps with oil from whale blubber and other crude combustible products. Now, with recent advances in how natural gases can be converted to electricity, energy can be created inexpensively without the need for burning.
While these new converters can convert a myriad of gases to electricity, the most common and inexpensive gas currently is methane. Biogas can also be converted to a usable AC current with this new technology, but currently the field of biofuels in still in its relative infancy so it most likely will be decades before any usable quantities will be generated.
Seven universities in the California college school system are currently installing large commercial natural gas converters on their campuses (among those universities are UC Santa Barbara in Southern California and San Francisco State University in Northern California). These colleges are installing these commercial converters not only to help reduce costs, but also to study this new science.
One of the most predominate types of natural gas converters is also commonly called a solid oxide fuel cell or a natural gas inverter. Since in effect hydrogen atoms (the most common element in gases and the first element on the periodic table) are a combination of one proton (positive charge), one electron (negative charge), and a neutron (no charge), it is not such a stretch to imagine that through a process not requiring combustion that a stream of electrons (commonly referred to as electricity) can be produced. Many people chose to refer to these products as natural gas inverters not only because the final process in converting natural gas to electricity involves inverting the direct current produced to a usable alternating current (hence, inverting the direct current to alternating current). Also, many people have already become familiar with the inverter used in conjunction with photovoltaic panels so the terminology “natural gas inverter” makes sense with the already recognizable “solar inverter.”
Ironically, so much recent publicity has centered around the commercial installations of these gas to electricity converters that the residential portion has been almost completely overlooked. With companies like Wal-mart, eBay, and others having installed these units, it is easy to understand why those installations would hog all of the attention. In reality, it is still a little known fact thousands of similar smaller units have been installed in homes across the country.
In general, the cost per kWatt-hour is about half using a residential natural gas converter than what people are currently being charged from their electric companies when the national averages are taken. So in effect, the “wish” of all those asking for lower utility bills is on the peak of being granted by what would appear to many to be a magical money saving genie installed at the point where their existing gas line comes into their home. Believe it or not, residential natural gas to electricity converters are on the verge of exploding, but not in the manner that you first may think.

Mechanical Aeration: It is observed that in the diffused air system, only a small per cent of oxygen, not more than ten is actually utilized in the oxidation process used as treatment for sewage, the rest, about ninety per cent, is simply required to bring about the required agitation of the sewage sludge mixture. A great amount of oxygen is invariably obtained from the atmosphere at the surface. The realization of this fact has given rise to mechanical aeration, in which the sewage is constantly stirred by mechanical means in order to bring it into intimate contact with the atmospheric air. This being more economical and advantageous, is being increasingly followed in modern practices used as treatment for sewage.
Two types of sewage aeration systems are commonly employed:
(1) Paddle mechanisms
(2) Spray mechanisms
Paddle Mechanisms: Paddle mechanisms circulate the sewage in the wastewater aeration tank. The latter are made up of long inter-connected channels such that the sewage has to travel a long distance. The direction of flow being guided by paddle wheels so arranged, as to revolve either about horizontal shafts crossing the channels midway of their lengths. Paddle wheels are placed in a staggered fashion or about vertical shafts partially submerged at the end of each pair of channels in series. Baffles are used to cause overturning motion. In this mechanism, a part of the sewage is also recirculated to the influent end in the first arrangement. Therefore, this is a better method of treatment for sewage.
The channels containing the paddle mechanisms may be about 1.2 m deep x 1.8 m wide with paddle wheels dipping 20 to 30 cm into the sewage and revolving at 0.6 to 0.9 m /sec. Detention periods for complete aeration are somewhat longish (15 hours or even more) for the aeration of sewage.
Spray Mechanisms: In spray mechanisms, sewage is drawn to the surface and then thrown in the form of thin sheets or films on the surface. The film formation aids in the absorption of oxygen by exposing large surface of sewage to the atmosphere. The simplex system is a well-known example of this type of treatment for sewage. This consists of a single square hopper-bottomed tank or a rectangular tank with a series of square hopper-bottomed units, through which sewage flows and which may or may not be equipped with baffles or dividing walls.
Each unit has a central uptake tube, which is widened out at the bottom and has an inverted cone, suspended centrally at top with reference to the uptake tube and driven by a mechanism. The cone has vanes and during its revolutions, sucks up sewage from the bottom and sprays it at the top, thereby setting up a circular motion in the sewage. The cone spins at 60 rpm and contents are turned once in every 20 minutes. Units are 3 to 6 m deep and 1.5 to 2 times as wide. The detention period is 8 hours or more to complete the process of aeration treatment for sewage. The spray aeration is well suited for small plants because operation and maintenance are simple.
Combination System: In this, as the very name implies, the two actions viz. diffusion and the mechanical aeration are combined in one unit. The well-known type is the Dorrco aerator. This consists of a tank, 3 to 4.5 m deep and of equal width. It has two rows of diffusers fixed at the bottom and along one side of the tank. A submerged paddle wheel is at the center of the tank and mounted on a horizontal shaft, that rotates 10 to 12 rpm in a direction opposite to that of the rising air bubbles. Detention period is 2 to 3 hours.
The main advantage of this system is the increase in the diffusion action – 2 to 3 times as much oxygen as in diffused air tanks is absorbed, and consequently there is reduction in the supply of compressed air.

Public relations for fast food franchises and eating establishments of this type are so vitally important to on-going sales and those fast food restaurants, which concentrate on a positive community goodwill image, do best over time.
This means that strong public relations program is needed at the Franchisor level as well as at the store level in their individual market areas. What can a fast food franchise outlet do in the community to promote public relations and goodwill?
Well there are many things that they can do including joining service clubs and the Chamber of Commerce. Many fast food restaurants will have low-cost catering or provide free beverages to soccer teams during halftime. It is amazing how a little bit of customer service can go along way in that regard. But, what else can a fast food restaurant do to promote public relations?
Consider if you will the Ronald McDonald House and how that has helped so much for families who have children that have had their lives cut short. You can thank Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonalds for that.
This of course is done on a national level and they have many Ronald McDonald Houses around the World. But did you know that there are so many wonderful things that can be done locally and when fast food outlets do such things, people will stand up and take notice and you are well on your way to an excellent public relations program.

Small wind turbines have been useful not only for residential but also for commercial, industrial, and institutional purposes. They augment power supply and lessen the electric bills of home and business owners. Around the world, many companies have begun becoming environment-friendly by choosing this power-generating alternative.
There are two types available in the market – vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs) and horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWTs). The vertical one is identified by blades mounted on vertical shafts while the horizontal one is by propeller-like blades. Depending on the availability of the wind, both types can be installed on towers or poles or even on your rooftop.
You might be asking what differences or similarities these two have. Here’s a short but helpful description of each:
Blade shape
VAWTs come with blades of various shapes. There are wind turbines that have blades formed like a bow and there are some with an S-shape. Even more daring, some wind turbine experts shape their blades into a spiral to make battery charging more convenient. The shaft of VAWTs is positioned vertically so the gearing needs not be set on a higher level or at the top of a mast of HAWTS to convert the rotation to a vertical shaft that drives a generator at ground level.
Noise produced
VAWTs can be quieter. Vertical turbines’ noise is only 2 decibels if you stay 2 meters away from the generator. HAWTs, on the other hand, can produce from 35 dB to 50 dB of noise. 35 dB is similar to the one observed in the library. A 50-decibel noise is like an office with many people working together.
Interaction with the wind
As to interaction with the wind, VAWTs are not disturbed by the wind while HAWTs always go where the wind is directed. This makes VAWTs less susceptible to turbulence than HAWTs, a factor why they are used mostly in urban areas.
Power Output
One HAWT produces 1.5 kW of power at 31 mph and a total of 2000 kWh of power delivered annually. Some can produce 5000 kWh per year with an average of wind speed of 12.5 mph.
VAWTs, on the other hand, produce a peak power of 7 kWh and deliver 7000 to 10,000 kWh of power per year.
Before deciding whether to buy a horizontal or vertical wind turbine, it is a must that you know which type of wind turbine will give you your money’s worth. You can either search the net or seek advice from experts on wind turbines.

So do you want to know about renewable energy?
I understand why a lot of people are interested in this subject. In fact, I am one of them myself.
Renewable energy is becoming a very important resource of power; even governments are conducting huge researches on this matter.
I want you to think about this for a second- What if all countries and individuals use renewable power, how would it be?
Well, it will definitely change the future of the planet.
Renewable energy
It is the energy generated from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, geothermal heat, and many other resources. These resources are naturally replenished.
Geothermal energy: It is obtained by trapping the heat of the earth itself. It can be done in some places from the surface and in others it has to be a few kilometers deep.
Hydropower: Energy in water can be harnessed and used. Water is about 800 times denser than air, so even a slow flowing stream or a moderate sea swell can yield a considerable amount of energy.
Bio fuel: There are various types of bio fuels that could be made out vegetable oils, animal fats, the sugar components of some plants and many other resources.
Solar energy: It is the energy derived from the sun through the form of solar radiation.
Wind energy: Air flows are used to produce energy.
Warning: These last two renewable energy resources are perfect for everyone to use at home or even at the office. You can easily buy or build your own solar panel and wind turbine, and produce green free energy.
