Biofuels Are Not the Answer
With growing concern over our excessive use of fossil fuels, biofuels have been touted as the near-term solution to our environmental problems. As the name implies, biofuels are produced using agricultural products such as wheat, corn and sugar. One popular application of biofuels is to mix them with gasoline to reduce vehicle carbon emissions by 10% in North America and up to 25% in other countries. This will result in reduced dependence on fossil fuels, cut our carbon emissions and reduce our carbon footprint.
